Aloha Nu^TM Shredded Coconut is certified organic and 100% natural with absolutely NO added sweeteners, sulfites, or preservatives of any kind. This is one of the few certified organic shredded coconut sold in the United States that does not contain sulfites—a chemical preservative to prevent yellowing due to the hot temperatures in cargo ships during transit; often times in excess of 115 degrees F. Many companies say they are “sulfite” free or don’t list sulfites as an ingredient; however all of the shredded coconut we analyzed tested positive to sulfites – even those that claimed to be “sulfite free.”
